Capital Cornelia’s dam is one of the best producers at the stud. Alzu Carissa is the dam of Capital Hemmingway (1.40m), Capital Cullinan (1.30m), Capital Carina (1.30m) and the eventer Capital Cleveland (2*).

Capital Cornelia’s sire, Capital Chicoletto Z, was a Zangersheide stallion who jumped successfully at the top of the sport here with a massively powerful jump and notable care. He was by Cassini II, full brother to Cassini I. On his dam’s side was Coronado, popular as a sire of approved sons, and beneath that Rebel Z, a full brother to Ratina Z, described by some as the ‘mare of the century’. Cornelia therefore carries some of the most concentrated jumping blood in the catalogue.

Capital Cornelia is in foal to Capital’s Tandoori Pommex Z, a Zangersheide chestnut by Tobago Z, twice winner of the Sires of the World and the earner of more than 2.7 million Euros in international prize money with Daniel Deusser. Tandoori’s dam, Evita van ‘t Zoggehof, jumped 1.60m with Lorenzo de Luca; his second dam, Anais Anais de Muze, jumped 1.50m; and his third dam is Fragance de Chalus, the dam of Mylord Carthago and Bamako de Muze and one of the most important broodmares in the history of the sport.

This pairing of Cassini II and Tobago Z brings together two elite jumping families, making Cornelia’s foal one to watch out for.
