24.06.2015  |  173cm  |  Chestnut  | Due: 14.11.2026

Capital Pialotta is a tall chestnut mare with one of the most international pedigrees in the sale.

Her sire, Douglas, is a KWPN stallion by Darco out of a mare by Capitol I, which places two of the most consequential names in jumping breeding directly behind him. He was placed first in jumping at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf, was Champion of Ireland in his age group at four and Reserve Champion at six, and competed internationally at 1.50m with Conor Swail. As a sire, he has been emphatic: Suma’s Zorro represented Egypt at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and won the Spruce Meadows Grand Prix, Dassler won the Dublin Puissance, and Dougie Douglas sold for 1.4 million Euros at Goresbridge before winning a Grand Prix and a Nations Cup in a single weekend. Douglas has numerous approved sons, sits in the WBFSH top 100 sires, and holds the NRPS Prestatie-Fok predicate awarded on the performance of his offspring.

Pialotta’s damline matches Douglas VDL in quality. Her damsire is Indoctro, among the most successful jumping sires of recent decades, and her granddam, Irones, is the dam of Virones C (1.60m). A 1.60m horse so close in the female line is serious breeding by any standard, and Pialotta has already produced Capital Qophelo, for whom we have high hopes.

Pialotta is in foal to Capital’s Harton v/d Berghoeve Z, our 2019 Zangersheide stallion by Heartbreaker out of a Diamant de Semilly mare, with Atoucha van ‘t Roosakker as third dam. Heartbreaker brings technique and carefulness; Diamant de Semilly scope and blood. Over a big, blood mare carrying Darco, Capitol I and Indoctro, Harton concentrates jumping technique rather than diluting it. Capital Pialotta is without doubt one of the strongest lots in the catalogue.
