Capital Curtesy is the sister to Capital Campana, both out of Capital Hiroshia, the dam of Capital Kosmo (1.30m), and both offered on this Auction. She has already produced Capital Izara, by Capital Impossible, so she comes with her broodmare career underway.

Her sire, Capital Castigo, was a genuine performer. By Calato, a stallion who won championships and represented Denmark in Nations Cups and who emerged from his performance test among the highest scorers in his age group, Castigo jumped to 1.50m with Chris van der Merwe and is a three-time six bar winner, clearing 1.95m. Castigo’s damsire, Cascavelle, has produced showjumpers, stallions and top-class mares alike. Beneath Curtesy’s own dam sits Palyssa, the dam of the 1.50m jumper and sire Capital Chicoletto Z.

Curtesy is in foal to Capital’s Barnardini JT Z, by Baloubet du Rouet, the Athens Olympic individual gold medallist, out of Happy Days Z, a full sister to the Olympic showjumper Hardrock JT Z. Carthago and Ramiro Z anchor the second and third dams. Nicole Horwood describes Barnardini as ‘naturally clever and uncomplicated, with the rideability, carefulness and quick thinking the modern sport demands’.

Putting blood like Barnardini’s over a mare from a stallion-producing family, by a sire who has personally cleared 1.95m in a six bar, is a breeding aimed squarely at scope with temperament and intelligence attached.
