CAPITAL CASANOVA
Capital Cornetblue Floreval Z x Mylord Carthago x Quidam de Revel
10.11.2021 | Grey | Gelding | 165cm
Capital Casanova’s pedigree gathers several of the most influential jumping sires of the modern era within three generations.
His sire, Capital Cornetblue Floreval Z, is a son of Cornet Obolensky out of a mare by Chacco-Blue, which sets two of the defining stallions of contemporary jumping breeding side by side. Cornet Obolensky, a son of Clinton and maternal grandson of Heartbreaker, was the youngest member of the German team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was the number one sire on the 2025 WBFSH ranking. Chacco-Blue topped that same list for six consecutive years from 2017 and left behind champions of the order of Explosion W.
Casanova’s dam, Capital Ladonna, answers that quality with her own. She is by Mylord Carthago, the grey Selle Français stallion who was European and World team runner-up under Pénélope Leprevost and a top-five sire on the WBFSH list, himself a son of the great Holstein sire Carthago. Ladonna’s own dam, Francescapracht, is by Quidam de Revel, one of the most enduring French influences in the sport. It is a dam line with real depth, not just a single fashionable name.
Under saddle, Casanova carries all of this lightly. He is elegant, expressive and naturally athletic, with the scope and careful technique over fences his breeding would lead you to expect. For a young horse, the balance of quality and rideability is already evident. He is a prospect to produce patiently, with a serious pedigree and a way of going to match.
